![]() This broke my $50.00 Mejzlik prop, broke the mounting for the top wing and broke the left hand wing strut. The Eagle met up with a electric fence wire at the end of the field. The engine quit on me and I was too far from the end of the runway to make it. She flew just fine until I chopped the throttle to idle on my base-to-final turn. BIG MISTAKE!!! I ended up leaning our the low-end needle without adjustments to the hi-end needle. ![]() ![]() When I fired her up, the idle was pretty rough so I adjusted it to settle it down. I was now getting close to 7000rpm, resulting is significantly more flight performance for the Eagle.Ĥ) I travelled to a Fly-In, to a field that was almost 1000' higher in elevation. It was also mixed for 25:1 oil per instructions.ģ) About the time I got close to 1 gallon of fuel and worked the needles some more, I replace the Top Flight 20x10 with a Mejzlik 20x10. Now, I attribute this poor performance to the prop but I'm sure it also suffered from incorrect adjustment of the needles and the less than 32ozs of fuel through it. I could barely get 6200rpm and that was not really sufficient for my 18.5 lb Eagle. I've got a BT-50SA on my GP Christen Eagle II and have flown with it for one season so far.ġ) Initial growing pains existed until the engine got some time on it and the mechanic (me and friend) finally figured out how to adjust the needles.Ģ) The 1st prop I installed was a Top Flight 20x10.
